Obama’s idiotic comment of the day

Posted in Politics, Uncategorized on May 25th, 2008 by gatordoug

This is priceless! Obama lays the blame for Hugo Chavez, who came to power during Bill Clinton’s watch, being first elected in 1998, squarely at the feet of President Bush!

Since the Bush Administration launched a misguided war in Iraq, its policy in the Americas has been negligent toward our friends, ineffective with our adversaries, disinterested in the challenges that matter in peoples’ lives, and incapable of advancing our interests in the region.

No wonder, then, that demagogues like Hugo Chavez have stepped into this vacuum.

As LGF points out This is certainly not the first time Obama has botched historical facts. I wonder too, how would Obama fare in a history test?

A daughter writes about the heartache of radical feminism

Posted in Uncategorized on May 24th, 2008 by gatordoug

A must read here! This illustrates just how perverse the radical feminst ideology is. TRULY SICK!

You see, my mum taught me that children enslave women. I grew up believing that children are millstones around your neck, and the idea that motherhood can make you blissfully happy is a complete fairytale.

In fact, having a child has been the most rewarding experience of my life. Far from ‘enslaving’ me, three-and-a-half-year-old Tenzin has opened my world. My only regret is that I discovered the joys of motherhood so late - I have been trying for a second child for two years, but so far with no luck.

I was raised to believe that women need men like a fish needs a bicycle. But I strongly feel children need two parents and the thought of raising Tenzin without my [male] partner, Glen, 52, would be terrifying.

As the child of divorced parents, I know only too well the painful consequences of being brought up in those circumstances. Feminism has much to answer for denigrating men and encouraging women to seek independence whatever the cost to their families.

My mother’s feminist principles coloured every aspect of my life. As a little girl, I wasn’t even allowed to play with dolls or stuffed toys in case they brought out a maternal instinct. It was drummed into me that being a mother, raising children and running a home were a form of slavery. Having a career, travelling the world and being independent were what really mattered according to her.

I love my mother very much, but I haven’t seen her or spoken to her since I became pregnant. She has never seen my son - her only grandchild. My crime? Daring to question her ideology.

John McCain blasts Obama on Iran stance

Posted in Uncategorized on May 19th, 2008 by gatordoug

Hot Air has the video

Say what you will about Senator McCain, he has a grasp of national security concerns that Obama does not.

McCain was responding to this bit of wisdom from Obama

Well, Iran is NOT the power the Soviet Union was, but it is foolish to downplay what Iran could do if they ever get nuclear weapons. After all, we KNOW what 19 hijackers did don’t we?

UPDATE!! Obama adjusts his statements on Iran

OK, it turns out the Messiah does think Iran is a threat, no wait, a grave threat.

“Here’s the truth: the Soviet Union had thousands of nuclear weapons and Iran doesn’t have a single one. But when the world was on the brink of nuclear Holocaust, Kennedy talked to Khrushchev and he got those missiles out of Cuba. Why shouldn’t we have the same courage and confidence to talk to our enemies? That’s what strong countries do. That’s what strong presidents do.”

One BIG difference Barry. Kennedy did not “talk” to the Soviets with no pre-conditions. He laid down the law and The Soviets backed down.

Obama repeatedly stressed the risk posed by Iran, as he suggested that danger has grown because of policies supported by McCain. “Iran is a grave threat. It has an illicit nuclear program. It supports terrorism across the region and militias in Iraq. It threatens Israel’s existence. It denies the Holocaust,” he said. “The reason Iran is so much more powerful than it was a few years ago is because of the Bush-McCain policy of fighting in Iraq and refusing to pursue direct diplomacy with Iran. They’re the ones who have not dealt with Iran wisely.”

Ah, so he agrees Iran is a threat but only because of President Bush? I suppose if we had just been nicer, dare I say more appeasing, Iran would not be a threat? Their president would not be threatening Israel? Or running a proxy war in Iraq? Or arming and training terrorists? Good grief, talk about naive!

I think I actually strained my eyeballs upon reading the headline!

A special U.N. human rights investigator will visit the United States this month to probe racism, an issue that has forced its way into the race to secure the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. The United Nations said Doudou Diene would meet federal and local officials, as well as lawmakers and judicial authorities during the May 19-June 6 visit.“The special rapporteur will…gather first-hand information on issues related to racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance,” a U.N. statement said on Friday.

Video- McCain OK with mentioning Rev. Wright now

Posted in MEDIA BIAS!, Politics, Race Pimping, Uncategorized on April 27th, 2008 by gatordoug

Michelle Malkin has the video on her site. I, like Michelle am befuddled by McCain on this issue. He demanded the North Carolina GOP pull its ad on the issue, yet now he says it will be an issue after Obama says he thinks it is a legitimate issue?

This boils down to political strategy folks. McCain is trying to avoid being accused of the “R” word. So he is gambling that if Obama says Rev. Wright is an issue, then McCain will be allowed to bring it up without the accusations of racism from the media and Democrats.

Of course, the media and Democrats will still bring it up no matter what Obama or McCain say about it.

Speaker “Face Lift” misquotes the Bible on Earth Day!

Posted in Uncategorized on April 24th, 2008 by gatordoug

Oh that Nancy Pelosi! Playing fast and loose with the truth is one thing, but playing around with The WORD of God?

The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, “To minister to the needs of God’s creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.” On this Earth Day, and every day, let us honor the earth and our future generations with a commitment to fight climate change.

Trouble is there is no such verse in the Bible.

Eco-Anxiety?

Posted in Uncategorized on April 20th, 2008 by gatordoug

Another asinine Leftist disease! H/T Moonbattery

Hard as it may be to believe, many liberals take their own eco-blather seriously. Given that they are hardly paragons of mental stability to begin with, their constant obsessing on consumer guilt and planetary doom are driving moonbats right over the edge. Some even come down with psychosomatic symptoms:

Sarah Edwards worries about the gasoline she burns, the paper towels she throws out, the litter on the beach, water pollution. She worries so much, it literally makes her sick.

“Fear, grief, anger, confusion and depression,” Edwards says, pointing to the negativity that has manifested itself in real-life symptoms such as neck and shoulder pain, fibromyalgia and fatigue.

“I had so much pathos. It’s so sad,” says Edwards, who moved from California’s crowded Santa Monica to a secluded cabin in Los Padres National Forest to help her cope.

Now, she says: “We only drive to the grocery store every three weeks. We have our own source of water. We compost and no longer heat every room on the first floor.”

Edwards suffers from eco-anxiety, the growing angst experienced by those who can’t handle the thought that they — or anyone — are in some way contributing to global warming, species extinction and dwindling natural resources.

Opportunists are “treating” kooks like Sarah by indulging them in their morbid fantasies:

Things have gotten so bad, a new kind of therapy has sprouted up to keep people from going nuts over the environment. It’s called “eco-therapy” or “eco-psychology.” The time on the couch isn’t spent delving into a patient’s childhood to find the source of misery. Instead, it looks at how much time a person spends in nature, the person’s carbon footprint and what the individual is doing to save the planet. And the prescribed treatment may be as simple as a dose of recycling or — you guessed it — hugging a tree.

Patients are advised to consume less, take shorter showers, and read more of the global warming propaganda that made them go off the rails in the first place. For this they are charged upwards of $100 per hour. There’s one born every minute.

If only the real cure for eco-anxiety were so simple as pointing out to these idiots that modern environmentalism is an insidious, antihuman lie, which leftists are exploiting as a Trojan horse to sneak in totalitarianism. But the true believers are probably such screw-up wrecks to begin with, Thorazine might be a more effective approach.

By the way, Sarah Edwards has a blog, at which she defines eco-anxiety as a “pre-traumatic stress syndrome.” Someone call the men in white coats, and tell them to bring their butterfly nets.

Michael Yon-Keep the surge surging

Posted in Uncategorized, War on Terror on April 11th, 2008 by gatordoug

I  do not pretend to be an expert on Iraq, but, Micharl Yon has spent years there, embedded withour troops. I defer to his first-hand knowldege, and I think everyone would benefit from reading his latest take

The change goes far beyond the statistical decline in casualties or incidents of violence. A young Iraqi translator, wounded in battle and fearing death, asked an American commander to bury his heart in America. Iraqi special forces units took to the streets to track down terrorists who killed American soldiers. The U.S. military is the most respected institution in Iraq, and many Iraqi boys dream of becoming American soldiers. Yes, young Iraqi boys know about “GoArmy.com.”

As the outrages of Abu Ghraib faded in memory – and paled in comparison to al Qaeda’s brutalities – and our soldiers under the Petraeus strategy got off their big bases and out of their tanks and deeper into the neighborhoods, American values began to win the war.

Iraqis came to respect American soldiers as warriors who would protect them from terror gangs. But Iraqis also discovered that these great warriors are even happier helping rebuild a clinic, school or a neighborhood. They learned that the American soldier is not only the most dangerous enemy in the world, but one of the best friends a neighborhood can have.

Some people charge that we have merely “rented” the Sunni tribesmen, the former insurgents who now fight by our side. This implies that because we pay these people, their loyalty must be for sale to the highest bidder. But as Gen. Petraeus demonstrated in Nineveh province in 2003 to 2004, many of the Iraqis who filled the ranks of the Sunni insurgency from 2003 into 2007 could have been working with us all along, had we treated them intelligently and respectfully. In Nineveh in 2003, under then Maj. Gen. Petraeus’s leadership, these men – many of them veterans of the Iraqi army – played a crucial role in restoring civil order. Yet due to excessive de-Baathification and the administration’s attempt to marginalize powerful tribal sheiks in Anbar and other provinces – including men even Saddam dared not ignore – we transformed potential partners into dreaded enemies in less than a year.

Then al Qaeda in Iraq, which helped fund and tried to control the Sunni insurgency for its own ends, raped too many women and boys, cut off too many heads, and brought drugs into too many neighborhoods. By outraging the tribes, it gave birth to the Sunni “awakening.” We – and Iraq – got a second chance. Powerful tribes in Anbar province cooperate with us now because they came to see al Qaeda for what it is – and to see Americans for what we truly are.

Vatican: Recycle or burn in Hell you sinner!

Posted in Uncategorized on March 10th, 2008 by gatordoug

AND YOU THOUGHT BLASPHEMY WAS BAD

Failing to recycle plastic bags could find you spending eternity in Hell, the Vatican said after drawing up a list of seven deadly sins for our times.

“The sins of today have a social resonance as well as an individual one,” said Mgr Girotti. “In effect, it is more important than ever to pay attention to your sins.”

According to Roman Catholic doctrine, mortal sins are a “grave violation of God’s law” and bring about “eternal death” if unrepented by the act of confession.

Good grief!

Bush to veto waterboarding ban

Posted in The scurge of PC, Uncategorized, War on Terror on March 9th, 2008 by gatordoug

Heartache for terrorists and the Leftists who love them

Washington Compost

“The bill would take away one of the most valuable tools on the war on terror: the CIA program to detain and question key terrorist leaders and operatives,” White House spokesman Tony Fratto said yesterday.

Leftist outrage in 3,2,1…

Although long expected, Bush’s formal move to veto the bill reignites the Washington debate over the proper limits of the U.S. interrogation policies and whether the CIA has engaged in torture by subjecting prisoners to severe tactics, including waterboarding, a type of simulated drowning.

The whiners opposed to this tactic ought to study what torture REALLY is. Maybe take a look at North Korea, China, the old Soviet Union, study what those regimes did. Or, here is a nutty idea, they could study what the Jihadis do to people they kidnap. When they get an understanding of what torture is, they might drop their moral relevancy and understand that America is the GOOD SIDE.

But, more likely they will simply bury their heads in the sand a little deeper and keep blaming America first.
